Taking it easy in Chicago wasn’t in the cards this year. My trip to Anime Central was completely dominated by work. Of course, this trip wasn’t for fun or reporting – it was for working. So I worked it easy. However, this was still my first Anime Central and now I know what I’ve been missing. A busy con with a lot of great cosplayers; I hope to come as an attendee next year.
Working aside, I managed to get out a bit. I wanted to see Hardcore Synergy but I learned on Saturday that it occured Friday. Still, I got to check out a few panels, such as that of Kaori Nazuka (Eureka Seven). And stumbled down to the game room for a late night touhou meetup. I was impressed by the number of touhou cosplayers and fans here. So it was worth the sleep deprivation come work again Sunday morning.
I can’t complain about working a con, you meet a lot of interesting people doing it. For me it was a great chance to check out a new con without the expense. Then occasionally things like this happen:

I apologize in advance if you’re not a Top Gear fan. Go familiarize yourself and come back.
This artist is a genius.

Lily was introduced in the latest DTM Magazine over the weekend as a new Vocaloid under development. The magazine, which has published accurate Vocaloid information before, states she was illustrated by KEI (the artist behind Miku, Luka, Ren & Len).
A Japanese blog also points out she has already appeared on the cover of a CD covering various anime themes. The CD, anim.o.v.e 01, features m.o.v.e (of Initial D fame) and various artists.

Sometimes it gets hard to keep up with watching Anime. Other times, it is hard to determine where the times comes from. May is off to a great start as far as getting things done goes. Despite an up-tick in work, I’ve managed to keep up with 4 shows thus far. Five if you count Fringe.
But first, if you missed Baka to Test to Shōkanjū last season, (kind of like how I forgot to post about it earlier) look for it when it comes out on DVD. I had no idea what I was getting into and almost missed it myself. Turned out to be a great comedy in my opinion, it’s been awhile since I had that much amusement to go on. I’ll let a few screen shots speak for me. (Images after the break)
Other than that, I’m watching Angel Beats, K-ON!!, Working!! and Heroman. I already mentioned Angel Beats and K-ON!! in my general April post. Working!! I caught up with later, kinda like BakaTest, and posted here. Then Heroman, as I said on twitter “I like seeing the Japanese take on America. (´・ω・) Also, I like the protagonist.” It’s also nice to do something different from time to time. I am happy with the show thus far, but I’m only 5 episodes in. You can find it easily on Crunchyroll.
P.S. I’ll be headed to Anime Central and Animazement this month. Don’t forget to say hi!

Tonight I needed to fill a gap while my formal work attire finished running through the laundry. Otherwise, I surely would of fallen asleep and woken up to wrinkled clothes. Given the time I have to be at a client, I can’t have that. So, I downloaded Working!! on a whim.
I was pleasantly surprised! I had heard just a few tid bits but nothing particularly negative or positive. I’m not saying it’ll be a classic either, but I think it’ll be a clear stand-out this season. I was so thrilled I had to write this post immediately!
The story follows 16 year-old Takanashi Souta in his new part time job. After being recruited by what appeared to be a middle-school girl, the comedy started to flow. Also, the heroine is adorable. I can admit that because she appears to have development.

Today viewers and attendees of the Kud Wafter live event, 主題歌生披露!V.I.P 第8回 クドわふたースペシャル生放送!, got a first look at the opening video. As a bonus, there was also a live performance by Kudo voice actor Suzuta Miyako of the opening song “one’s future”. Not to mention the adorable outfit she wore for the whole 2 hour live event. I’m sure she was exhausted. I managed to capture the whole event, but some kind people already uploaded both to Youtube. I am piss poor at encoding anyways. Videos after the break!

It’s done! The long awaited Narcissu prequel is now available, thanks to Agilis and Denpa. Download it for Linux, Mac OS X, or Windows after the jump.
Update: For a short while, I’ll be mirroring Narcissu 2 for Windows. (At least a week.)
