Taking it easy in Chicago wasn’t in the cards this year. My trip to Anime Central was completely dominated by work. Of course, this trip wasn’t for fun or reporting – it was for working. So I worked it easy. However, this was still my first Anime Central and now I know what I’ve been missing. A busy con with a lot of great cosplayers; I hope to come as an attendee next year.

Working aside, I managed to get out a bit. I wanted to see Hardcore Synergy but I learned on Saturday that it occured Friday. Still, I got to check out a few panels, such as that of Kaori Nazuka (Eureka Seven).  And stumbled down to the game room for a late night touhou meetup. I was impressed by the number of touhou cosplayers and fans here. So it was worth the sleep deprivation come work again Sunday morning.

I can’t complain about working a con, you meet a lot of interesting people doing it. For me it was a great chance to check out a new con without the expense. Then occasionally things like this happen:

Thanks to whomever uploaded that video. Dancing occurred more than once, giving me a chance to capture some video – but not a whole song. Had to focus on working, or at least look like it.

Anyway, thanks to all the outgoing people I met over the weekend. And to those who are thinking about visiting Anime Central. I’ll see you next year.

If you have a blog post or media from ACen, feel free to drop it in the comments! For something different, DJ Sharpnel wrote a report on his trip, check it out.
